The results of the Basic Law Short Video Competition have been announced!
In 2022, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region﹙HKSAR﹚will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the Motherland. This Competition gives participants the opportunity to express their views, through a short video of not more than three minutes, on how the "One Country, Two Systems" principle is implemented under the Basic Law and the Hong Kong National Security Law, thus safeguarding Hong Kong's way of life, socio-economic development, rights and duties of Hong Kong residents and rule of law, etc.
Participants are required to produce a short video under the theme of "Striving for good governance and prosperity: How the 'One Country, Two Systems' principle is implemented under the Basic Law and the Hong Kong National Security Law", with contents focusing on three areas, namely rule of law, economy and people's livelihood. The relevant topics are as follows:
How the provisions of the Basic Law and the Hong Kong National Security Law are in line with the prevailing international norms and principles, preserving national security and public order, while upholding the spirit of common law and safeguarding the rule of law, human rights and freedoms enjoyed by Hong Kong people;
How the constitutional order established under the Basic Law and the Hong Kong National Security Law strengthens Hong Kong's status as an international financial centre, or how it is conducive to maintaining a favourable environment for investments and businesses, with a view to helping the HKSAR integrate into the overall development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the National 14th Five-Year Plan;
How the Basic Law and the Hong Kong National Security Law help to promote a diversified society, enhance the cultural fusion of East and West, and ensure stable and prosperous development of Hong Kong into a world-renowned Asian international city since its return to the Motherland; and
How the "One Country, Two Systems" principle, underpinned by the Basic Law and the Hong Kong National Security Law, facilitates mutual legal assistance in civil matters between Hong Kong and the Mainland and enables the HKSAR to leverage its advantages as a gateway and transport hub connecting the Mainland with the rest of the world, thus boosting the prosperity and stability of both Hong Kong and the Mainland.

Participants may submit a short video which is not longer than 3 minutes ﹙180 seconds﹚. The entry can be produced in Putonghua, Cantonese or English but must meet the requirements of the above specifications. Participants are required to fill in the entry form in the website with entry heading and introduction﹙maximum 150 characters for Chinese or 225 words for English, excluding punctuation marks﹚and provide a YouTube or youku link of the video. Other means of submission﹙e.g. mailing a disc or by email﹚will not be accepted.
